While working for G-Star Internation C.V. in Amsterdam I was involved with the design of their flagship store in Amsterdam. Although having almost 200 stores worldwide, the Dutch brand had until then strategically chosen not to have a monobrand store in The Netherlands. This flagship store was to change all that.
Being positioned in the city where the brand was founded, it was important that the shop would surpass the rest in terms of design and appearance. The shop would function as a podium for new developments of the brand's shopfittings and materials. There was therefore a large emphasis on new furniture pieces, cladding, lighting and raw materials.
